Solidtech has now released an improved web site. We have upgraded the functionality and made it more easy to navigate. The web site is based on the Joomla! content management system and adapted by Nettstudio AS .

SolidTech has signed a service agreement for inspection of drilling related equipment with Transocean. The staff at Solidtech are proud to be a vendor to Transocean and are looking forward to provide an efficient service.

 

Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has found that Solid Offshore Technology AS meet the requirements for carrying out non destructive testing (NDT) on offshore projects and offshore units/components according to their Approval programme No. 402B.
- In order to provide such services to customers having components/structures which have or will have DNV classification the company needs to be approved by the class society, tells Dicsipline responsible for NDT, Morten Borøchstein.
The objective of the approval programme is to ensure the supplier is using appropriate procedures, has qualified and certified personnel toghether with a sufficient quality management system. Solid Offshore Technology AS will be using this recognition when it comes to services in connection with renewal and intermediate surveys on semi submersible drillingrigs.

Solid Offshore Technology AS has delivered inspection and verification services as core business since the start. Now the company has been certified as an enterpise of competence ("sakkyndig virksomhet") within inspection of lifting appliances.
- Earlier we have been using sub contractors to provide these services when customers have asked for help in individual cases. By taking this in-house we will be able to take control of every part in the delivery chain for this service, says technical manager Terje Bach.
Operational manager, Bernt Nielsen, says that this certification is an important milestone and that customers first of all will experience this as a more efficient service now that the process is within the company's own organization.
The next step is to hire more people to develope this segment further. - We need more expertise within the area of lifting appliances, tells the Managing Director Frode Tolcsiner and continues - at least 5 engineers and/or NMD approved competent persons.

SolidTech has employed new personnel with high qualifications.

• Carsten Lassen from Sweeden has over 10 years of NDT-experience and holds certificates within UT, MT, PT and RT. He has experience in Phased Array as well.
• Stuart Mackle has over 10 years of experience from inspection of drilling equipment and within NDT-inspection. He holds certificates within UT, ET, MT and PT. He has experience in lifting equipment inspection as well.
